Centerville and Berwick are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Centerville Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Berwick Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Centerville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Even though Centerville has not done well against Hanson Memorial recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Centerville came out on top against Hanson Memorial by a score of 40-28. The win was just what Centerville needed coming off of a 64-19 defeat in their prior match.
D?Irieyah Mitchell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Ella Billiot, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Berwick was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 32-31 to Donaldsonville.
Centerville's victory ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-19. As for Berwick, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.
Centerville suffered a grim 46-21 defeat to Berwick in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Berwick's Azyria Garrison, who almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 15 rebounds, and nine blocks.
