Softball Recap: Piedmont Wins Going Away Against Forest Hills

Piedmont got themselves on the board against Forest Hills on Tuesday, but Forest Hills never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Yellow Jackets. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Ashlyn Pressley made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Taylyn Steele was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Tara Deese was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

Piedmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Piedmont's record is now 11-4. As for Forest Hills, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Piedmont Panthers challenge Central Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Forest Hills, they will head out to challenge Concord at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
