Softball Recap: Jourdanton Has No Trouble Against Randolph

Jourdanton never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Randolph Ro-Hawks with a sharp 8-0 win. The Indians/Squaws haven't had any issues with the Ro-Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Megan Salazar and Hailey Sralik made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Salazar pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Sralik kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. At bat, Salazar scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Sralik went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Bobbiejo Gonzales was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Laney Briones also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Jourdanton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matchups.

Jourdanton's record is now 12-13. As for Randolph, they dropped their record down to 8-14 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Jourdanton has already played their next contest (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Randolph, they will challenge Cole at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
