Ceres is a perfect 10-0 against Johansen since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bulldogs will host the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Ceres' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Johansen has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
In Friday's Canine Competition, Ceres came out on top. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Livingston 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 12, 2024.

Alizae Cole made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one double.
In other batting news, Ava Montesdeoca was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Johansen lost 13-2 to Beyer on Friday.
Johansen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Ibanez Soto, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Isabelle Cardenas also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Ceres has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Johansen, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Johansen's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ceres hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for Johansen, though, as they've only averaged .203. Will they be able to contain Ceres' hitters?
Everything went Ceres' way against Johansen in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Ceres made off with a 26-1 victory. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
