If the Smith Academy Fighting 54th were riding high off their 55-20 takedown of Pierceton Woods Academy on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Smith Academy fell 37-27 to Clinton Christian on Saturday. Smith Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clinton Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Among those leading the charge was Anthony Snyder, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Snyder is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Ramer, who scored 4 points along with 3 steals.
Smith Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clinton Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smith Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Eastbrook at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Eastbrook is ranked 334th, while Smith Academy is ranked 332nd). As for Clinton Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Mishawaka HomeSchool W at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mishawaka HomeSchool W focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Saturday.
