The biggest upset of the week belonged to Nixon-Smiley, who defeated 717th ranked Karnes City, 12-7.
Dilley was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 2A-2 Region IV District 15. Earlier in the week, the Wolves triumphed over Stockdale 41-26.
The Brahmas' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jacob Cardenas threw for 63 yards and Gage Haley had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Matt Valadez chipped in 310 yards.
Valadez was a passing and rushing force as Stockdale lost to Dilley. Valadez's key target this week was Haley, who caught 4 passes for 59 yards.
Valadez was a force in the backfield as Josh West's team lost to the Wolves.
Haley was the best receiver in the league this week as the Brahmas lost to Dilley.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Haley. The Stockdale star has 6 catches for 102 yards.
At the moment, the Mustangs are in first, while the Wolves are in third.
Nixon-Smiley moved up to 698 from 849 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. James Duprie's team was able to move up by topping the Badgers 12-7.
