Clinton is 8-2 against Lakewood since August of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Dark Horses will be playing at home against the Leopards at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clinton has three straight victories, Lakewood has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
On Thursday, Clinton was able to grind out a solid win over South Lenoir, taking the game 3-1.
Clinton was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 26-28, 25-15, 25-16.

Clinton relied on the efforts of Jenna Jackson, who had 15 digs and four aces, and Cameron Marshburn, who had 34 digs and four aces. Marshburn has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last 13 times she's played. Emery Johnson was another key player, getting 24 digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Clinton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Lakewood lost 3-0 to East Columbus on Thursday.
The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-17.
Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Everything went Clinton's way against Lakewood in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, as Clinton made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Dark Horses have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Leopards turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
