The McCook Bison are taking a road trip to take on the Ogallala Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McCook has three straight victories, Ogallala has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
McCook is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Hastings: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bison blew the Tigers out of the water with a 33-0 final score. Given the Bison's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Tigers are ranked 91st) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tristan Campbell produced another solid performance rushing for 248 yards and four scores while picking up 11.8 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. McCook also got help from Miles Pollmann, who showed off his sure hands for 89 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: McCook was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 215 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
McCook didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Asher Wilson, Campbell, and Oliver Corbett picked up one apiece. Corbett has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played.
Meanwhile, Ogallala fell victim to Sidney and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Red Raiders, falling 33-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Indians were not able to get on the board.
Ogallala's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for McCook, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. McCook has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 240.8 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Ogallala, though, as they've been averaging only 62.5 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
McCook came out on top in a nail-biter against Ogallala in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 14-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bison since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
