The Comer Catamounts suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against ITW David Speer Academy, falling 63-26. Comer has not had much luck with ITW David Speer Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Comer saw an underclassman step up: Ra'Quima Wilson scored 15 points. That was a full 57.7% of Comer's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
It was another big night for Miabella Collazo, who scored 19 points along with nine steals for ITW David Speer Academy. Roshaunda Wilson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four blocks and two steals.
Comer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for ITW David Speer Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Comer will take on UIC College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. UIC College Prep comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for ITW David Speer Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Pritzker at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pritzker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 540th, while ITW David Speer Academy is ranked 226th).
