After three games on the road, Jesuit is heading back home. They will take on the Elk Grove Thundering Herd at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Jesuit was able to grind out a solid victory over the Wildcats, taking the game 51-43. 51 seems to be a good number for Jesuit as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, it may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Elk Grove ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-54 victory over Cosumnes Oaks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Elk Grove has posted since December 22, 2023.
Vinny Gonzales was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. Liam Acido was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Jesuit has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Elk Grove, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-14.
Everything went Jesuit's way against the Thundering Herd in their previous meeting back in January as the Marauders made off with a 69-47 victory. Does Jesuit have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thundering Herd turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
