Baseball Recap: Stafford Gets the Win

Stafford put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fort Bend Willowridge Eagles a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Spartans have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

David Faltysek tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Dana Williams was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Stafford is 9-2 when Williams posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Maxwell Frels, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Stafford's record now sits at 12-6. As for Fort Bend Willowridge, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15.

Stafford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
