The Crown Point Panthers were the 34-33 winner over the Lake Placid Bombers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Crown Point fell 31-20 to Lake Placid on Friday.
Lake Placid was led to victory by Kyra Jordon and Margaret Thatcher. Jordon scored eight points along with 14 rebounds, while Thatcher scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thatcher has scored all season.
Crown Point has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Lake Placid, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crown Point will take on Keene Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keene Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Lake Placid, they will head out on the road to challenge Bolton Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bolton Central will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
