Sports Leadership & Management is 1-9 against Boulder City since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bulls will take on the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Sports Leadership & Management is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Sports Leadership & Management came out on top against Sunrise Mountain on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run second inning. Alex Garcia was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Talan Everett, who earned two RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Sports Leadership & Management always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunrise Mountain only posted an OBP of .353.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Boulder City ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out The Meadows School 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since March 28th.
Steven Uszynski made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Uszynski was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Tate Crine looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Boulder City is undefeated when Crine allows three or fewer earned runs, but 9-10 otherwise.
Uszynski wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Robinson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Gauge Rhodes, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Boulder City is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Sports Leadership & Management, their record now sits at 10-14.
Sports Leadership & Management came up short against Boulder City in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 7-2. Can the Bulls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
