Jordan Brand Classic rosters announced

MaxPreps National Player of the Year candidates Shabazz Muhammad and Kyle Anderson headline a list of 20 senior stars selected to play in the Jordan Brand Classic.

The game will be played April 14 at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C. Past participants include Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and LeBron James.

Muhammad, a 6-foot-6 wing from Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), is ranked No. 1 in the MaxPreps Class of 2012 Top 100. Still undecided on his college destination, Muhammad is averaging 29.3 points per game this season.

Anderson, a 6-7 point-forward rated No. 3 in the MaxPreps Class of 2012 Top 100, has helped storied St. Anthony (Jersey City, N.J.) ascend to the No. 1 national ranking for the second year in a row. The Friars have won 48-straight games and Anderson's personal record over the past three seasons is 76-1.

Arizona and North Carolina signees occupied six of the roster spots. Future Wildcats Brandon Ashley, Grant Jerrett and Kaleb Tarczewski will participate along with future Tar Heels Brice Johnson, Marcus Paige and Jean-Pierre Tokoto.

The Jordan Brand Classic event will also include a regional game, showcasing the top prep players from the state of North Carolina in an East vs. West showdown and an international contes featuring 16 of the top under-17 players from around the world.
