Roanoke Catholic has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Carlisle Chiefs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Roanoke Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Carlisle is ranked 50th).
Roanoke Catholic put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Everything went their way against Chatham Hall as Roanoke Catholic made off with a 36-13 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22-1.
Meanwhile, Carlisle didn't have too much trouble with St. Margaret's on the road on Monday as they won 73-54.
The victory got Roanoke Catholic back to even at 4-4. As for Carlisle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Roanoke Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Carlisle in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 43-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roanoke Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
