Lithia Springs had to start their season on the road  on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were  outmatched by the Lithonia Bulldogs and fell  40-3. Sadly, the  loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.
 Lithonia had a senior duo take command as  Albert Gooding rushed for 156 yards and a pair of  TDs on only 15 carries and  Xavier Butler gained 103 total yards and two touchdowns. Gooding really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 72-yard run.
 Lithia Springs will have a little extra prep time after the  defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pebblebrook at 7:30  p.m.  on  the 29th. As for Lithonia, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  match,  a  36-0  win against Redan on the 22nd.
