The Sandia Prep Sundevils are taking a road trip to square off against the Rehoboth Christian Lynx at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Sandia Prep has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Sandia Prep made up a huge gap compared to their last game against East Mountain, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Sundevils fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday. The Sundevils have struggled against the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Logan Lemons made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Sandia Prep is 2-1 when Lemons posts three or more RBI, but 8-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Mahboub, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rehoboth Christian made easy work of Laguna Acoma on Tuesday and carried off a 17-4 win. The Lynx might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
Josiah Becksvoort was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jonathan Zylstra, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trajen West, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
The victory made it two in a row for Rehoboth Christian and bumps their season record up to 9-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Sandia Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sandia Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rehoboth Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Sandia Prep's way against Rehoboth Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Sandia Prep made off with a 13-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sundevils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
