South Point extended the longest winning streak in 3A Big South this week by beating North Gaston, 49-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Red Raiders.
South Point took down the Wildcats 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Kings Mountain's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mountaineers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jonathan Clark has thrown for 1573 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Xavier Johnson has 43 catches for 699 yards. Dashan Guest leads the league in rushing with 1040 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Crest and John Devine's team. The Chargers comes into the matchup ranked 20th in the state, while the Red Raiders ranks 11th.
Two of the top units in 3A Big South will face off this week when Crest takes on South Point. Mark Barnes' team's offense has recorded 403 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Red Raiders have permitted only 112 on the year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Chargers take on South Point. Crest has allowed 208 points this season, while the Red Raiders have given up 112. The Chargers allowed 27 points last week as they bested Kings Mountain.
Forestview made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,082 from 3,463. The advance stemmed from a 23-0 victory over Huss last week.
