Basketball Recap: North Lincoln Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

North Lincoln was the 72-64 winner over Ashbrook when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The North Lincoln Knights fell to the Ashbrook Greenwave 69-63. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ty Chandler, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points, to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Those 14 points gave Chandler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Heavner, who posted 11 points and six assists.

Ashbrook had a senior duo take command as Issac Byers Jr went 9 of 16 on his way to 23 points and five steals and Jamari Smith went 8 of 13 en route to 16 points, to go along with six boards and five assists. Byers Jr's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Satchelle Pettis, who had 12 points.

North Lincoln's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Ashbrook, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

North Lincoln didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 90-60 victory against Forestview on the 5th. As for Ashbrook, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 85-83 win against East Lincoln on the 6th.
