He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beaufort Academy). They never let Battery Creek get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Like Andrew Jackson Academy, Beaufort Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Tucker Scoggins. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Scoggins was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Keeler Dineen was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Beaufort Academy is 2-1 when Dineen posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jace Paulk, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Beaufort Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Andrew Jackson Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Beaufort Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Andrew Jackson Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Beaufort Academy when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 12-11. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
