The Union County Panthers took a 33-point loss the last time they faced off against the Providence Christian Academy Storm, but they managed to turn things around on Saturday. Union County narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Storm 47-44. The win made it back-to-back wins for Union County.
Despite the defeat, Providence Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Clara Allen dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoie Cameron, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Union County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Providence Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.
Union County and the Paladins will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Fellowship Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. As for Providence Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against the Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Banks County is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
