Keio Academy of N.Y. was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.
Carmel found their leader in underclassman Kylie Murphy, who went 8 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 2 assists. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Murphy has scored at least a third of Carmel's points. Ashley Webber was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Keio Academy of N.Y. dropped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Carmel, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-9.
Keio Academy of N.Y. will be playing in front of their home fans against Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Carmel, they will head out on the road to square off against Yorktown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Yorktown is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
