Anthony Carreon and Desmond Anson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Antelope Valley. The longest such play in Golden this season, the connection resulted in 63 yards.
Knight moved up to 587 from 662 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Hawks climbed the ranks as a result of topping Littlerock 26-7.
Quartz Hill's dynamic duo of Carreon and Anson proved tough for the Antelopes to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Carreon threw for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns and Anson had 106 yards receiving. Mauro Riley-Guglielmo helped Quartz Hill's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 57 yards.
Bobby Franklin was a passing and rushing force as Knight defeated the Lobos. Franklin's key target this week was Devlin Wilson, who caught 2 passes for 20 yards.
He was 15-21 with 1 interception.
Franklin was a beast in the backfield as Corey Guilfoos' team topped Littlerock.
6-foot-2 quarterback Jalen Singleton of Eastside is the league leader in passing yards this season with 483. He has also thrown 6 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jamire Jordan. The Highland star has 14 catches for 398 yards.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Highland takes on Palmdale. The Bulldogs' offense has recorded 142 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Falcons have permitted only 67 on the year.
An important game coming up in Golden this week will be when Adam Fabela's team takes on the Rebels. At the moment, the Lobos are in third, while Quartz Hill is in first.
James Vondra's team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. Earlier in the week, the Rebels triumphed over Antelope Valley 34-12.
