The Saint James Trojans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against Sumter Central as Saint James made off with a 34-8 victory. The result was nothing new for Saint James, who have now won six matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Saint James' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Anderson, who rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Clint Houser did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Saint James' win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points per game. As for Sumter Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Saint James will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Sumter Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Prattville Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
