The Covington Lions entered their tilt with the Springfield Bulldogs with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Covington walked away with a 55-47 win over Springfield on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Covington also won the last time the pair played back in February.
When it comes to explaining why Springfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tobias McGee. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Dequane Davis was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Covington's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Springfield, they bumped their record down to 5-7 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covington will challenge Denham Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Springfield and Albany will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
