On Friday, Easley came up short against Bleckley County and fell 57-48.
Easley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Freeze, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Freeze's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Stack, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Easley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Bleckley County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Easley and Wren will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Wren's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. Bleckley County will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Fitzgerald at 5:00 p.m. on January 3rd. Fitzgerald will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 354th, while Bleckley County is ranked 145th).
