The Tecumseh Indians will be taking part in a tournament against the Clinton Redskins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Tecumseh has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Tecumseh and Whiteford, and Tecumseh kept the tradition alive. The Indians never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Monday.
Not much got past KENNDAI FULTON, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Whiteford off the board. FULTON has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, MAYA JUOZAPAITIS was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. LONDON LANDINI also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Clinton came tearing into Tuesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Colts 19-0. Give the Redskins' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.
Ashlynn Benschoter made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Benschoter was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylinn Long, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Mya Popkey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Clinton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Clinton's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Tecumseh, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tecumseh hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Clinton struggles in that department as they've averaged .380. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
