Baseball Recap: Hico Wins Going Away Against Aquilla

It was a proper cat-fight when Hico faced off against Aquilla on Friday. Everything went the Hico Tigers' way against the Aquilla Cougars as the Hico Tigers made off with a 13-4 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Wyatt Honea made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has become a key player for Hico: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-2-1 otherwise. Honea was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Jackson, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-4. Hico is undefeated when Jackson posts two or more runs, but 0-2-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cade Wilson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Hico was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Hico's record is now 4-2-1. As for Aquilla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Hico has already played their next contest, a 15-0 defeat against Bosqueville on the 7th. As for Aquilla, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-0 loss against Dawson on the 7th.
