Okaw Valley - Blue recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Okaw Valley - Blue this week, Maroa-Forsyth beat Tuscola 38-2. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
The Warriors made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,680 from 6,808. The advance stemmed from a 38-2 victory over Tuscola last week.
Maroa-Forsyth's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jack Hockaday threw for 81 yards and Clayton Zilz had 57 yards receiving. On the ground Chad Howell contributed 75 yards. Howell helped Maroa-Forsyth's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 18 yards.
Howell was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 75 yards on 12 carries as Josh Jostes' team bested Rick Reinhart's team. Teammate Josh Ratts added to the ground attack by rushing for 28 yards.
Maroa-Forsyth's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hockaday has thrown for 1,976 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, while Drew Fredericksen has 35 catches for 718 yards. Hockaday also leads the league in rushing with 609 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, Hockaday is short just 24 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
Maroa-Forsyth led Okaw Valley - Blue in scoring this week by notching 38 points on the Warriors. Howell caught 3 passes for 18 yards during the win.
