Kaden Comanche made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Anthony Yuzos was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Mescalero Apache: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 2-8 otherwise. Ricardo Yuzos was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Mescalero Apache kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Lordsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of Duncan.
Lordsburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Scott, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another was Victor Valdez, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
Lordsburg now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Mescalero Apache, their record now sits at 4-9.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mescalero Apache has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .484.
