Even though Conway Springs has not done well against the Owls recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Conway Springs snuck past the Owls with a 41-37 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Conway Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Melissa Ebenkamp, who scored 11 points along with seven steals. Ebenkamp is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. Brooke Beck was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Chaparral unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. Their tough 47-23 defeat to Cheney might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chaparral has scored all season.
Conway Springs' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8. As for Chaparral, they dropped their record down to 9-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Conway Springs came up short against the Roadrunners when the teams last played back in January, falling 57-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Chaparral's Kaylee Swartz, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
