The Barren County Trojans will take on the Campbellsville Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Barren County will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Barren County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Monroe County on Friday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 17-5 win. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Matthew Estes looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, Skylar Potter was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Gavin Coffey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Barren County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Campbellsville faced Larue County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles came up short against the Hawks, falling 12-2. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Campbellsville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kade Somerville, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Barren County's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Campbellsville, they moved to 18-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Barren County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Campbellsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Barren County beat Campbellsville 9-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
