The University Cougars's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Apopka Blue Darters at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Apopka took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on University, who comes in off a win.
With a playoff game on the line, University rose to the challenge on Saturday. They managed a 37-32 victory over the Wildcats. Despite the win, that was the fewest points University has scored all year.
Hudson Maurer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points. Another player making a difference was Mo Kamara, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Apopka unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 65-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Evans. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Apopka in their matchups with Evans: they've now lost seven in a row.
University has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Apopka, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.
University suffered a grim 67-43 defeat to Apopka when the teams last played back in November of 2020. Can University avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
