Coahoma has won four straight games at home, while Wall has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Coahoma beat Grape Creek 33-27.
Jayden Henderson was a one-man wrecking crew as he picked up 92 receiving yards and two scores. His longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards. Austin Molina also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wall). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Merkel 63-13. Considering the Hawks have won six games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Wall's win came from a few key players Coahoma will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Landon York, who threw for 387 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 76.7% of his passes. Brady Neal was another key player, rushing for 174 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries.
Wall didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Merkel to a completion percentage of just 48%. The team can thank Jager Thompson for the heroic effort on defense: he. Wall has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.65 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.65 in their last three games.
Wall's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Merkel's side was Jacob Braden, who made 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Wall's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Coahoma, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Coahoma was dealt a bruising 48-6 defeat at the hands of Wall in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bulldogs were down 35-0.
