If the Telfair County Trojans were feeling good  off their  60-13 takedown of the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Telfair County took a hard  55-41 fall against Wilcox County on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Telfair County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings  (they are ranked 401st, while Wilcox County is ranked 102nd).
  Zah'Mya McDuffie and  Passion Clay certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss.  McDuffie  scored 18 points along with six  steals, while  Clay  scored eight points along with three  steals. McDuffie is absolutely dominating the  steal category: she's  posted at least two every time she's  taken the court this season.
 Telfair County's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Wilcox County, their win was  their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 12-1.
 Telfair County and Hawkinsville will face off  at 6:00  p.m.  on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hawkinsville and Telfair County are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Wilcox County, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Crisp County at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Crisp County has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
