Even though the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, the Holland Patent Golden Knights still came out on top. Holland Patent put the hurt on Vernon-Verona-Sherrill with a sharp 83-57 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Holland Patent also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dylan Donegan, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The matchup was Donegan's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eliijah Donegan, who scored 17 points.
The win got Holland Patent back to even at 1-1. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holland Patent will square off against Camden at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's road trip will continue as they head out to face Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
