The Southern Alamance Patriots struggled with threes on Friday (the Orange Panthers had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Southern Alamance took a serious blow against Orange, falling 93-40. Southern Alamance was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-26.
When it comes to explaining why Southern Alamance lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chris Epps. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Tyler Moore was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
It was another big night for Coleman Cloer, who scored 39 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks for Orange. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cloer has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mason Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Southern Alamance's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Orange, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Eastern Alamance the next time they take the court. Southern Alamance will host Eastern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Orange will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
