D'Evelyn has gone 8-2 against Standley Lake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Jaguars will square off against the Gators at 4:00 p.m. D'Evelyn is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
D'Evelyn fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Evergreen on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 6-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 27, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Jack Meiser was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, while Standley Lake put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Kennedy. The Gators were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Commanders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.
The team relied heavily on Titus Schrecengost, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Standley Lake: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-9 otherwise. Marc Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Standley Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .550. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
D'Evelyn's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Standley Lake, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. D'Evelyn has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Standley Lake struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went D'Evelyn's way against Standley Lake when the teams last played back in March, as D'Evelyn made off with a 14-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
