In what's become a running theme this season, the Four Winds/Minnewaukan Indians gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 62-31 victory over Thompson at home. Given Four Winds/Minnewaukan's advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Thompson is ranked 42nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Thompson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brayden Wolfgram. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Overby, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Four Winds/Minnewaukan pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.6 points per game. As for Thompson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Four Winds/Minnewaukan will head out on the road to take on Grafton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Grafton's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Thompson, they will be playing at home against Carrington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carrington is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
