East Montgomery won the last time they faced West Montgomery, and things went their way on Friday, too. East Montgomery took their match against West Montgomery by a conclusive 42-14 score. East Montgomery were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
East Montgomery's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 35 points in the first half. West Montgomery came up with 7 to make it 35-7 heading into the break. The East Montgomery defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game. The win got them back to even at 2-2. The defeat dropped West Montgomery's record to 1-2.
East Montgomery will look to defend their home turf next week against Eastern Randolph at 7:30 PM. West Montgomery will stay at home against West Stanly at 7:30 PM.
