LOOMIS, Calif. -
Del Oro (Loomis, Calif.) extended its winning streak to eight games with a 63-9 victory over River Valley (Yuba City, Calif.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Dylan Kainrath touchdown run in the first quarter, the Golden Eagles were up 48-4 at the half.
Del Oro grew its lead to 45 points entering the fourth quarter. DO scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Logan Hurst.
A 27-point first quarter set the table for the Loomis school, who coasted the rest of the way for the victory.
Mason Humes stood out for the Golden Eagles in the win. He kicked seven extra points.
River Valley's lone touchdown came on a 4-yard pass from Devin Cates to Dace Asher in the third quarter.
Del Oro entered the contest giving up 23.4 points per game this year. A defensively strong DO kept the Falcons well below the 21.1 points it had been averaging per game.
