After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Booker T. Washington, the Choctawhatchee Indians were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over South Walton. That's another feather in the cap for Choctawhatchee, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Choctawhatchee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Robert Spells out in front who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Chris Pitts was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, South Walton had strong showings from Carson Hawk, who scored ten points along with two steals, and Austin Hostetler, who scored 11 points. Hostetler's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Jaden Robinson, who scored five points.
Choctawhatchee has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for South Walton, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
Choctawhatchee will head out on the road to square off against Pine Forest at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Pine Forest will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for South Walton, South Walton and Bay will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
