Westville has won nine straight games at home, while Salt Fork has won nine straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Tigers will welcome the Storm at 4:30 p.m. Westville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.3 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Westville duked it out with Normal West on Wednesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-5 victory. Considering the Tigers have won 18 contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Taylor Valangeon was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Jones, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lani Gondzur, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs.
Westville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in 23 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Salt Fork gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin 9-7.
Salt Fork is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Westville, their victory bumped their record up to 22-2.
Everything went Westville's way against Salt Fork in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Westville made off with an 11-5 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Storm turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
