The West Johnston Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 61-44 fall against Cleveland. West Johnston lost against Cleveland in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-52 score last time.
Despite the loss, West Johnston had strong showings from Kameron Taylor, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds, and Dionta'e Williams, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals. The match was Taylor's fifth in a row with at least ten points. William Moore was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
West Johnston has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Cleveland, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
West Johnston will head out on the road to face off against Fike at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fike focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. Cleveland will be home for the holidays to greet Southeast Raleigh at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Southeast Raleigh is ranked 269th, while Cleveland is ranked 244th).
