Clinton School fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Beacon Blue Demons on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 72-71 to the Blue Demons. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (57), Clinton School still had to take the loss.
Clinton School lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaya Kelly, who scored 33 points along with seven rebounds. Those 33 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Tokarczyk, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, 21 rebounds, and ten assists.
Even though they lost, Clinton School were working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Clinton School and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Beacon, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Clinton School will be playing at home against Economics & Finance at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Economics & Finance comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Beacon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
