When it comes to explaining why Monte Vista lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julian McMahan. Despite the final result, he rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns.
Monte Vista has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for California, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
Monte Vista will head out on the road to face off against Clayton Valley Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for California, they will be playing at home against San Ramon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Ramon Valley is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
