Even though the Lake Belton Broncos scored an imposing 68 points on Tuesday, the Chaparral Bobcats still came out on top. Chaparral walked away with a 77-68 win over Lake Belton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chaparral.
Chaparral's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alphonzo Houser led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five assists and three steals. Demarko Williams was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds.
The victory got Chaparral back to even at 18-18. As for Lake Belton, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 15 of their last 19 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-21 record this season.
Chaparral will head out on the road to face off against Belton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Belton will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Chaparral surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lake Belton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Shoemaker at 7:00 p.m. Lake Belton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 732nd, while Shoemaker is ranked 70th).
