Hiland hasn't had much luck against Ridgewood recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hawks will head out on the road to take on the Generals at 5:00 p.m. Hiland has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Hiland came up short against Tuscarawas Central Catholic on Friday, falling 12-2.
Hiland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jalyn Immel, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Ridgewood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Redskins a 3-0 shutout.
Not much got past Addison Lahmers, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Coshocton off the board. Lahmers has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brittleigh Bates was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Rilyn Medley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Hiland's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Ridgewood, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Ridgewood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hiland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .461. It's a different story for Ridgewood, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Hiland's hitters?
Hiland might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Ridgewood in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
