Monroe extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Janiyah Boyd. The Redhawks walked away with a 56-48 win over the Parkwood Wolf Pack on Friday thanks in part to Boyd, who almost dropped a double-double with 29 points and nine rebounds. Her big performance that evening made it 35 games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.
Several Wolf Pack players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooke Fowler, who posted 13 points. Fowler has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Brinley Parker was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.
Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Parkwood, they moved to 10-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
