Basketball Game Preview: E.E. Smith Golden Bulls vs. Terry Sanford Bulldogs

E.E. Smith has won three straight games at home, while Terry Sanford has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The E.E. Smith Golden Bulls will host the Terry Sanford Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Last Wednesday, E.E. Smith humbled Harnett Central with a 60-23 victory. With the Golden Bulls ahead 34-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.

E.E. Smith's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Azariah Brunson, who went 6 for 10 en route to 15 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Brunson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Johnson, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

E.E. Smith was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Terry Sanford). They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging an 88-31 win over Triton. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Terry Sanford is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.6 points. As for E.E. Smith, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

E.E. Smith suffered a grim 64-42 defeat to Terry Sanford in their previous matchup back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point E.E. Smith was down 35-7.
